Traumatic Injuries

Dislodged Teeth

Injuries to the mouth can cause teeth to be pushed back into their sockets. In most cases your dentist may re-position and stabilize your tooth. If the pulp remains healthy, then no other treatment is necessary. However, if the pulp becomes damaged or infected it may require a root canal. Our office will be happy to provide a complete assessment and recommend best option to save your smile.

Avulsed (knocked out) Tooth

If an injury causes a tooth to be completely knocked out of your mouth, it is important that you seek treatment immediately! Keep the tooth moist (in milk or a glass of water with a pinch of salt), and if possible, put it back into the socket. A tooth may be saved if it remains moist and treatment is done right away. Length of time and quality of storage may influence the type of treatment and the likelihood of success.
